Hello! My name is Hannah Going.

From May 2024 – Jan 2026. I used Wordle as a prompt to write poems and posted them on my Instagram stories. The number of attempts it took me to solve the Wordle (or fail to solve it) corresponded to the number of lines I get for each poem.

Inevitably some of the poems were better than others. My lack of control over the theme lowered the stakes in that respect. The point was practice over perfection.

Having taken a break, I’ve decided on a new daily project, which I am calling Words in Progress. The plan is write daily on one theme for 25 days. As with the Wordle poems, the daily aspect encourages practice over perfection. I’m hoping that having a single theme of my choosing will allow me to explore a bit more deeply and perhaps tinker with different forms.
